37/74 some small hickory limb rounds going. Everytime I think its the last fire of the season we get a weird cold spell a week later.

40/63, just lit a fire to take the chill off. More oak as usual.

Last 2 evenings had a fire to take the chill off. I think the downstairs was 58 or so. Had frost this morning and a warning tonight. Im hoping this may be the last hurrah for this burn season.

I suppose I'm done for the season. At these temperatures I don't mind burning a little bit of oil sporadically, rather than trying to have a small fire once a day. Solar gain and cooking in the oven helps a lot too. It was a good run. Time to take the indoor wood rack back outside and put it away, and tidy up the stove room.

Woke up to 64 in the house. Tossed a half dozen oak splits in and have a small fire going. May not even turn the blower on.

Have not had a fire for more than a week and a half. Almost started a fire this morning. House was down to 58* last night. The Wif has business out all day so won't be around to enjoy it so I let the heat pump gallop. Supposed to be cold tomorrow so maybe we can sit by the fire together for morning coffee then. Miss the daily fires but not the hauling of wood to feed it. I guess the seasons roll on! Fishing opens on May Day!:)
