There are no bases close to me however different units train often over the mountains (and some ground units in the mountains). Not my pics, as my hiking days are long over, however a hiker snapped these a couple years ago from a peak near me as some Warthogs were doing low level close air support training. A get a lot that fly right over the house and love it; brings back a lot of memories. Pardon our noise, it's the sound of freedom.

We get them pass by here pretty often...not sure why. One time I was sitting in a deer stand and one flow over low enough I could see the rotor wash hitting the taller trees.

Those are epic pictures. Reminds me of my youth with my cousin while out by volk field in the woods of the driftless area when we had an a10 buzz the treetops right over us. I'll never forget that.

First mow of the season, and first to mow in the neighborhood. I mowed the big part of my lawn last night with my new to me 'bota. I did this after work to get my truck in the garage before storms last night. Figured I'd I had to start up the 'bota might as well see how it mows. That turned into, might as well do a strip on the outside, then that went to let's see how quickly it can do the big part of the lawn.

    Pretty quickly I might add.

I'm not even a pro at driving it yet, but I didn't hit anything.

 Got ahold of the DMV here again today, still nobody hired for road tests and the manager gal that was doing them has been too busy for the last 3 weeks, so who knows when I might get my drivers license. :headbang: Next week will be 6 weeks which a woman estimated but said they are running faster than expected.

Luckilly I have a real card ID now though. Idk guys, I need to do things. I might just risk it.

It's the product of standing out with mediocre surroundings or dare to be different in a world of imitation? ;)

Man it's dumping rain here. It started about 5:30 and still going. At least there's been no damage here. Just a lot of rain. It rained a good amount yesterday too.

The sump pump is keeping up with the rain. It's running about 1x a minute. The mega dumping of rain stopped a while back. But of course the rain takes a while to drain from the soil around the house into the crock for the sump pump.

I know the Vermont Air National Guard practices over NH on a regular basis. My area is a regular practice ground and we see helicopters on a regular basis spring thru fall. They will have 4 or five coming in very low. So low that we can hear them but not see them until they are right on top of you. Cool to watch but sometimes alarms newbies and they get on the local FB page to ask what is going on. We sometimes also get planes, but not as often as the choppers.

Love the pictures of the planes. It brings back memories of when Judy and I spent several winters in AZ. There was a Marine air base close to us and their route to practice areas was right over us. Lots and lots of choppers and guys used to wave to us as they passed. Sometimes they would train really close to our camp so we got to watch. Sometimes they would train at night making attacks on a close by mountain. We also enjoyed the annual air show at the base.

    Thanks for the pictures.

Here at home we get lots of them flying to the base at Grayling.

Oh yes, I remember them well. I used to simply ride the big wheels.   Geeze Eric, how old do you think I am?

Those big wheels can be found in many areas of MI today but no oxen with them.
