Stacked yesterdays splits for now. They will eventually get moved next door. Moved some next door and stacked. Probably hitting the dead ash cut tomorrow. Forgot to take pics, but it did happen.

Back to the dead ash cut today. A small for tree had come over since last week partly blocking the way. DSCF0764.JPG DSCF0765.JPG Another heaping load. Went a little quicker as I was able to half most of the rounds with the Isocore instead of noodling them. DSCF0767.JPG DSCF0768.JPG A couple cuts off the big tree and what's left of the other. DSCF0766.JPG Split entire load after. Heartwood DSCF0769.JPG bundlewood DSCF0770.JPG and general cordage piles. DSCF0771.JPG Obligatory nail found with splitter DSCF0773.JPG Last trip next week.

How many empty racks do you have to fill among your various storage areas?

    TOO many. :picard:

4-5 cords ( 8-10 racks) at main storage. The shed next door hold 13.5 cords but need 3-4 to keep me in a "normal" rotation of bundle wood. Its a perpetual filling/emptying cycle. I like to be at least 6-9 months drying before being used. I need two cords here at home for some local customers. Filling one today with BL nuggets from a cut last Summer.

The dead ash "bark" pieces are getting mixed in for current bundles. Heartwood will go in a couple months.

Not to mention a few cords worth of green splits for customers taking it that way in the next couple months.

Tough to recover with a couple months of being down, but making progress.

C'mon down with the van and give me a hand. Bring Mr. Bill and his truck too. I could use the help.

I have enough for next season, but not much more. In 4 weeks I'm going to get a dead fairly large Ash in my neighbor's woods for a start.

I could have loaded you up with red oak back when you were in the area.

Does that include the wood you just got by your place?

Anything at in laws yet? You go on FBM?

You always find a way to find wood even if a small amount. :tree:

Grabbed some slab white cedar from the burn pile and processed. There was more but too buried. Ill mix a piece in bundles in a few months. More to come from the mill. Stacked apple to finish another half cords rack. Still more to stack. Moved more CW and ash heartwood next door. DSCF0774.JPG DSCF0775.JPG DSCF0776.JPG DSCF0777.JPG

I filled truck up when war started for $67 at the time. $2.69 gallon IIRC. Now its $20 at a time.

Last of the ash heartwood was moved to the shed on Saturday and stacked. TP in front. DSCF0806.JPG Second row nearly topped. Being filled right to left DSCF0807.JPG Bundles ready to fill an order. DSCF0808.JPG With what I've scored including the cottonwood, tulip, cherry and Fridays cut it should be close to filling it up even though the CW & TP wont get stacked in there just yet. I've stacked it elsewhere for now to dry and will either get moved and slowly mixed in or moved when ready and needed.

Delivery yesterday took me by one of my BL honey holes. Cut half a PU full and the heat got me. Don't fare well when its this warm. Never have. Too fast of a warm up. Split it right off the PU at storage. About a quarter cord that will get delivered soon to my friends shed. All barkless clean up wood. DSCF0821.JPG DSCF0822.JPG

Thanks to Eric Wanderweg for this lead from CL that panned out. :handshake: Surprised the guy responded. Lot being cleared for a new house. Park, cut and load. Mostly Norway maple, cottonwood and HVBW. Good mix for general cordage and bundle wood. DSCF0819.JPG DSCF0827.JPG DSCF0826.JPG Split maybe 60% off the truck. Need to refill splitter gas can again. DSCF0828.JPG Ill cut another load tomorrow. And the one BW log long enough for the mill I cut up without realizing. :headbang:
