cast iron fry pan myths

    A little vinegar will remove the rust. Use a spritz of Pam or whatever oil you have handy. Wipe the oil away then heat the skillet up on low.

    When I cook eggs. I just use paper towel to wipe the skillet clean while it's still hot. Then let it on the burner till it's cold.
    If there's bits stuck on, put an ounce or 2 of water in the skillet while it's still hot, then scrub away the bits after it steams a little. Then dry and oil/ wipe dry the skillet then warm it again before storage.

    Water; the best cleaner there is.
    Especially when hot or boiling.
