Looking for someone to go to the Wisconsin Surplus auction house and take a look at a radial arm saw that is on the block. Willing to pay for the troubles. Thanks Keith
There are a couple members from S. Wisconsin, but..... I used to follow those Wi Surplus auctions pretty closely.
I have had good luck with them, quite a few purchases. 2+ hour drive one way for me so I was hoping to find someone close to them. I figured it was worth a shot.
Map quest lists at as 1.5hr one way from my place, so you can pretty much figure 2 hours from me also thanks to the various orange and white mushrooms one will encounter. Radial arm saws are kind of nice because of the over arm set up and being able to swivel the blade from cross cut to rip( with the proper table set up) but sure are a pia to get set up properly. tracking on the arm is easily messed up. The old industrial units built like a bricksxxxx house can be quite useful but most of those will be 3 phase.
Just off the auction site pics. 1st is the 18" for $75 plus tax ect and the 2nd is the 16" for $50. Supposed to be from a school. I would love to have a dedicated wood shop, used to make cabinets, furniture and custom millwork and still have all the machinery. Definitely don't want anything to do with it as a income base. The saws will be used for cutting industrial plastics and aluminum extrusions at our machine and fab shop.
