Yes of course we will be selling after December, but we don't want to get to far ahead of ourselves like others have done this season and then not be able to deliver. That has hurt a large amount of dealers this year....so we only take so many orders, make sure we can deliver those on time and then repeat. BCPellet is an old lumber trader who now trades some pellets....Sells LaCretes and maybe a couple of other smaller brands....and you are correct, he is simply guessing at the numbers

He's been saying a bunch a stuff about Okies(like BC rail issues ending bulk shipments to the Upton plant). Too bad you can't defend yourself.

He has no idea what he is talking about...really.

I don't have to defend myself....I will let my pellets and customers sales do that for us...here is some more product we will be marketing as well.......

Viridis Energy Adds 45,000 - 60,000 Tonnes per Year of Wood Pellets Through Supply Agreement with British Columbia Producer
    (via Thenewswire.ca)

Viridis Energy's Scotia Atlantic Plant Receives 50,000 Tonne Order

Vancouver, BC - October 1, 2014 - Viridis Energy Inc. ("Viridis" or the "Company") (TSXV: VRD (OTC: VRDSF)), announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Viridis Merchants Canada Ltd, an aggregation and trading service of wood pellets, has secured an additional 45,000 tonnes of wood pellets per year over the next two years from a western Canadian manufacturer to augment the Company's current production capacity. The additional wood pellets are expected to be available in October 2014 and will be sold to Viridis' existing customers in the U.S. and South Korea, which will support a greater expansion into Southeast Asia. Viridis projects the added supply will generate a minimum of $21 million over the initial two year term of the agreement, depending on the producer's ramp-up.

The initial term of the supply agreement runs from September 2014 to December 2016, with an automatic renewal for an additional 12-month period. The agreement also provides for an additional 15,000 tonnes of EN Plus A1 quality wood pellets per year. The agreement extension plus the potential additional 15,000 tonnes of pellet supply could increase the potential revenue over the full term of the agreement to a total of $40 million.

Commenting on the Viridis Merchants transaction, Christopher Robertson, Viridis' CEO said, "As we continue to increase our organic production capacity, Viridis Merchants' transactions has supplemented this growth, creating an overall total wood pellet manufactured and aggregated capacity of over 300,000 tonnes annually. Viridis is well on its way to reaching its goal of one million tonnes over the next couple of years."

In addition, Viridis announced that its Scotia Atlantic facility has received an order from a large European utility company for 50,000 tonnes of wood pellets to be shipped by March 31, 2015. The order, facilitated by Ekman, the Company's distributor, calls for a higher quality industrial pellet than previously shipped by Viridis. Mr. Robertson added, "As wood pellet demand continues to increase, we are visibly noticing that pricing for pellets is strengthening in Europe."

Douglas Middleton, how is the recent run in the dollar affecting your international trade? Imports from Canada and Exports to South Korea? Is it making it more expensive to buy your pellets in South Korea or are the contracts denominated in Won which causes you to take a hit in the shorts? Just curious..

Most international contracts, be it pellets, cars, wheat, crude oil etc are normally (not always) are done in US$.....

It is my goal to have more dealers stock all 3 of our brands by next year at the latest...not all will and we have to get our supply of Platinums to the point where we have a better supply of them, which will happen in the near future. That in itself should help with finding our pellets more available.

Doug, thanks - really appreciate the info you provide here, I find it to be very interesting and useful. I have been watching the various "raise suspicion" remarks about "what's really in those Okie bags" on the other site for some time, and even replied to a few with what I have learned here. Figured it had to be an agent of one of your competitors.

Regarding the press release info you included above, are you able to give any specifics? What mill are these coming from, and how much of the new capacity product will make it into NE for pellets burners like us? Will they be bagged and sold as Okanagan Platinums? I don't have to tell you this, but there will be a whole lot of happy pellet burners in NE when you get the platinum supplies back up to full strength in this area.

For 6 years now I have worked my butt off to create one of the top brands of pellets in NE and am very proud of the product we provide. The current extra production we talk about in our press release on Oct 1st is and will be every bit as good as the product we make from our mill in BC...as many other manufactures in other industries who have multiple plants do when packaging their products, we have a standard that will not be lowered simply to gain market share. If the bag has the name "Okanagan Wood Pellet" on it...you can rest assured that it is a good pellet and has past our tough requirements.

The Platinum pellet is 100% kiln dryer SPF (spruce/pine/fir)....the Gold is 100% Southern Yellow Pine and the Douglas Fir is just that...100% Douglas Fir...probably the very best pellet in all of North America. I'm not bragging when I say that...I'm just stating something I believe to be true and many others that have used the pellets seem to agree.....over the course of the next few months, NE will start to see more Platinum available at our current dealer network, or at least those that choose to stock it.... the amount will depend on demand and capacity to transport it.

Along with my dealers and their customers, there will be one happy pellet peddler that will be able to supply more of his product to an awaiting customer base...which in my book is a win-win

In that 6 year period I have seen too many pellet producers, lower there quality to meet a certain "price point" to satisfy a market level that we simply can't do and make a profit at...good for others if they can, but we choose to put out what many consider to be a better pellet, but have to charge accordingly. We will probably never be as large as some of the big boys in NE, but I do understand our place in the market and since it seems to be growing rapidly will try and fill that need as best we can...but it won't be done by lowering our quality and if I miss a large section of the market because of it...so be it. I intend to keep supplying the best pellet(s) we can at a price that represents a good value and make a buck for the company at the same time...

In my humble opinion this year will be a turning point in NE for the pellet industry and we will see some players drop out next year...some will get much larger and distribution will be changed regarding who has whose pellet to sell....the days of leaving purchasing your pellets in volume at the last minute will probably be more challenging down the road....but that is just my ever so humble opinion....
