While running errands today and cutting through an industrial park, and checking on a 2 acre pond I noticed some fresh cut blowdowns. I did not have any tools other than gloves with me but I grabbed what I could. I got two pieces of red oak and a piece of what appears to be ash. I will bring the saw hopefully during the week. There was a bunch of tulip poplar also. IMG_1557.jpeg IMG_1558.jpeg

Nice little grab Thom. Reminds me of my early years of scrounging without a saw.

Similar situation today. I was off work and running an errand, I noticed the town I was in had done some roadside cleanup, again only tool was a pair of gloves. I had a good jacket on and sneakers. I got mostly red maple but some smaller red oak also. These small scrounges do add d up. IMG_1587.jpeg
