8.5 bags used for October (had 1/2 bag left from last year). Stoves were started up on 10/9/25. They have mainly just been going at night, using thermostats to let them start up / shut down when appropriate.
I used 28 bags for the month, which makes it 36 for the season so far. I did not use the mini split at all. And although the month has been colder than average, with barely any sun, I've used less pellets than in years before I had the mini split.
I used 34 bags for December but did use the mini-split for several days while I was out for the holidays (easier for pet sitter). The last time I used more for December was 2022. Total used for the heating season thus far is 70.5 bags - which is on track with 2022 usage (74 bags) - and 20-30 bags more than the previous 2 heating seasons.
Burned 65 bags since the beginning of October. This year's Wood and Sons SUCK. Very poor heat and a great disappointment. Stove is wicked clean and new door gasket. OK for shoulder work but now it has been constantly in the mid to low 20's during the day and teens at night. Stove runs ALL day and the thermostat on the wall hardly budges. Looking for a ton of something strong to blend this crap with to get us through the winter. Second year of Wood and Sons. Matra's burned hotter but the finds were unbearable. Constantly cleaning the vacuum switch...meh!
58 bags in January. Haven't used that much in any month since December 2017. A lot of that is because I've been heating my garage for a couple of weeks (so far). Temps have been way below average for most of the month (I think 1st week was at average). 128 bags for the year so far.
Exactly 1 ton for February. Total of 178 bags for year. Already surpassed the total usage for each of the last 2 winters and am only 15 bags shy of total usage for winter of 22/23. Had to heat the garage for all of February. I usually only have to heat it for a couple for weeks max (I don't remember having to heat it at all for the last several winters).
30 bags in March for a total of 208.5. Most used since the 2020/21 season. I finally quit having to heat the garage around March 8. Even though this winter has been the coldest for several years. I realized that my pellet usage isn't quite as bad as it seems because I haven't used the mini split at all except maybe part way into November. It just got too cold too fast. Even now, I'm using strictly pellet stoves even though I could switch over.
