We had a pretty rough winter with a few good snow and wind storms which brought down trees and large limbs throughout the region. Most towns around here have a fall cleanup where residents can put unwanted wood and brush to the street for pickup. Since just about everyone around here thinks burning pine will reduce their home to ashes, piles of cut pine logs are a fairly regular scene this time of year. In just a few minutes of cruising around some neighborhoods near me has landed me two truckloads of pine that will either go directly in my wood boiler or will be split and sold to campers. Pictured is the second load I’ve gotten in the last few days.
The same with pine around here cept nothing roadside. Very common at the dumps I frequent. How long will you dry it before offering for sale? With my shortage of dry bundle wood I was tempted to add a piece of softwood to them as it dries fast. During the Winter I added ERC to some. I have access to a fresh EWP blowover should I wish, but just cut a PU full of cottonwood and have maybe another PU left. CW dries amazingly fast in the warm weather so it may suffice.
This is what I love we are the experts on what you can and can’t burn Like we all know pine is fine as long as it’s seasoned but people talk to a buddy and all of a sudden they are the experts saying oh pine will start a chimney fire
