    9 at the moment.

Never did get the snow that was predicted. Dang the luck! There's still a slight chance of it later though.

The lake sure was noisy making ice yesterday evening and all night long. It actually woke me up 2-3 different times with all the popping, groaning, creaking and rumbling sounds!

Haven’t burned for the last few days but lit one today since it’s colder out. Oak keeping us warm. Hopefully by the time fall shows up we are burning in a new stove in a new house!

28° this am. 66° in the house. I lit a fire at lunch time yesterday. Had the house 71-74° all the day and everything last night. I didn't rechooch before bedtime, so that's why it dropped into the mid 60's this am. It rained yesterday afternoon and into the evening. We needed that to wash the salt away.
A couple ash splits in the quadrafire this am. It's supposed to hit 40 ish today.

Heavy frost the last two nights with warmer afternoon temps. Morning til noon fires of Doug Fir. Also cleaning up and burning bark scraps and kibbles and bits. Good time to clean up that smaller stuff. Clean wood yard, clean mind! So boring!

Past few days into the high 20’s . Temperatures through the day has been perfect for th3 radiant heat to keep tho house warm. Furnace hasn’t been on for a while. Nice when the home is heated by just the TACO circulator.

25/68, have a nice morning fire right now with some oak. I’ll be headed out this morning to split a little wood. Still need to source some logs. Cousin says he knows a guy with a nice pile but I’ve been waiting on that call since last year. Probably time to sign up for chip drop and call around to the tree cutters.

This morning was 9 and warmed up to 14 at the moment.

Fired up at bedtime and regretted it overnight as it got into the low 70's and made the whole house miserable!

Dogs went out two different times and just laid in the snow to cool down......and wouldn't come in when you called them!

    I opened a window for a few hours-it helped a bit.

Yesterday was cold and windy. I didn't check but wind chill must have been at least single digits, most likely below zero! The winds died about the same time I fired up.

This morning was 9 and warmed up to 14 at the moment.

I think it was about 30 when I lit a nice fire. Probably 50 now. Hauled home 2 loads of logs. I think they are beech but not sure. I’ll have to snap a couple pictures and post them. Yesterday I cut 2 or 3 dead fallen trees up. One was fairly punky but it should dry and burn this winter. Need to find some more cages now!

45/67, burning oak. Headed out to split some of the dead trunks I cut over the weekend before work. I’ll get that all out of the way and stacked and then dive into the loads of beech. I looked up the leaves and figured out that’s what it is. Hope it splits well!

Cold nose and face woke me up. Warm here today with little wind, put off lighting the fire til we spaced it out. Wow, with no wind it heated this place up quickly! Love it. Turning it down now so not too hot for sleeping :picard::rofl:
