The only thing I even use anymore. They work great and I've caught mice, red squirrels, grey squirrels, and chipmunks (I put them outside near the foundation of the house or in the sheds during the warmer months). I fill the bucket just below half with water and put some peanut butter inside above the trap door. I just dump the 'contents' out in the woods and any carcasses are gone by the next day. No poison and the carrion eaters get a free meal.
Cats. Our last one was put down last year and she wont have another. I use the good old fashioned traps with peanut butter for bait. Check them often. They get in the storage room downstairs.
These were the last ones I bought. Gave a couple to the woman who lives down the road from me and she cleared out her mouse problem in no time. (She doesn't use water and prefers to drive a distance away and release them alive...). www.amazon.com/dp/B09DJD5NFQ?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3&th=1
On our walk the plank we used peanut butter. The ramp up to the lip of the bucket was a piece of lattice. I’m thinking at about 45* angle
