Hey buZZsaw BRAD remember when I said that I was taking down half of my woodshed to relocate it? Mother Nature gave me a head start on that process last night. All it took was one all day heavy rain event followed by a night of heavy gusts. Huge dead sugar maple stem. The other stem of the tree also let go, but got hung up in a neighboring red oak. Too bad this has been dead for many years and the wood is rotten. I’ll have to get some of this cleaned up later once the neighbors are awake.
OH NO! Wind was loud here too! Homeowners claim maybe? Was any firewood injured from this incident? Question I have is how you let that spar get that punky and never took it for wood?
I managed to get the dead tree sectioned and moved. I started cleaning the debris but I’ll have to get back at it tomorrow when I can bring the mess to the dump. You can see the sections of rotted trunk in the background.
That stinks, I hope it hit the part.of the shed your were wanting to take down. And I wish you could have used the wood from the tree.
So far, so good! We had a nice winter with plenty of snow, but it all went quick in the last few weeks. We could get a little snow this weekend, so fingers crossed. Stratton is still holding up good with snow. Thanks for asking!
Suuny then cloudy, then light rain and wind, repeat only the second time it was graupel mixed with the rain. I was at storage about 2pm yesterday. I took shelter in the PU and ate my lunch while it blew over. Mostly sunny the rest of the afternoon.
We woke up to a light coat of snow yesterday...its been in the 60s-70s here, until the last couple days. Supposed to get back up in the lower 60's today, from an overnight low of 32*. Looks like the last of the real cold stuff, at least for a bit anyways...goofy weather.
I was in a sweat shirt all day and looks like the same today and maybe tomorrow. Ill take it over last weeks heat. IINM one spot in CT hit 90*. I don't fare well in the heat, unless I'm doing nothing.
