Ok Brad, wanna ask me when I can drive in my processing area again? :)

Lost power early this afternoon. Only one logical conclusion, take a nap.
Woke up a few hours later still no power. Looked out the window to see what else this day may bring.

Electric truck backed into my PA driveway if you call it that. Buried to the frame.

Went to see if I could help. Found out why I have no power. Transformer burnt right through the last pole on the line which is in my driveway.

They buried a small excavator in my drive way pulling it out but they’re out and working on it. I went out for a beer. Cheers :)

Well that was fast. I’m impressed. Went to the local pizza place for a beer and a cup of chili. Came back home and the trucks were gone, pole up, transformer up, and even the internet was on. That’s pretty frickin good.

Actually looking at the pic that’s the old pole. They temped it for now. I hope that’s not the old transformer. I hope we don’t get any lightening storms

Holy chit! :bug: I bet you were shocked to see that!

Been there done that with my truck. Almost got stuck once back in January.

My famous last words "I wont get stuck"

If you take the truck and trailer out tomorrow you might wanna avoid that area.

Drying up pretty good in my area of course the current rain doesn't help. Ill see tomorrow when I head over to the wood yard. Have a load of apple on the truck, tarped and ready to split from yesterday.

It was pretty soft here a week ago before the frost went out. It dried up right before we got a foot of snow…

Don't tell my dirt but so far it's not been terrible. Last big rain we had and the snow melt all went into the river due to nicely frozen turf.

Nasty. I do not miss those soft earth days. If need be, they could drive into my place with no fears and no problems. I love living on sand.

    Glad they got it fixed.

The last time our power went out a because of a blown transformer the PoCo sent out SIX trucks. SIX!!!! It still took them over 2 hours to get the power back on. No wonder my electric bill goes up every year.

We had an owl fly into the lines a few years ago. The two phases touched and blew the transformer fuse in the yard. It woke us up and sounded like a large rifle going off outside the window.

I looked outside and couldn’t see anything wrong, so I called the power company. They showed up and said “we can see it from the truck”. The wires going to the barn were directly behind and inline with the power pole, so I couldn’t see them. There was no sign of the owl, just a few feathers.

Not quite that bad here. We got about 30 total in three days. The pic of my truck was after the first day. Obi-Wan Kuboti got a pretty good workout the last couple days

The transformer looks pretty new. That pole might be there for a while though. Seems like sometimes they just dump them off and forget about them.
