Don't remember being hit myself, but I surely remember the sound it made when I pinged it off my little brother....
I couldn't let it pass without wishing Robert Duvall a belated happy 95th birthday. What a legend! Born Jan 5, 1931
Plato once stated, 'Necessity is the mother of invention'. This gives a new meaning to latch key and also to keychain.
I was well into adulthood when I found out that the line in the Elton John song Bennie and the Jets really wasn’t “you know I’m redder than a Pakistaniiiiiiiii”

It's a shame we can't post old prices and old wages together. I remember making less than $100 and gas prices at $.19 and a week's groceries for $10 or less. It's an eye opener.
$100 for the week or day? I assume week. Most (capable people) make that or double or triple that in a day now
Thank God for that! One could not even pay rent or mortgage with those wages today. I am still amazed at the prices of homes today, especially when I think about my first home. I could not pay cash but my monthly mortgage payment was $50 per month. Most folks today are shocked when they hear this. Oh, my first car at age 16 cost me $30.
It was nothing for high school buddies to get their first car for $50 back in my days. If you spent $100, you were getting something that was real nice! I knew one guy that paid $15!!!
