Hello, I traded in my 1/3 ton Subaru Outback for a GMC Sierra 1500. I am wondering how people transport their saws when they have a full load of wood. I don't really want to carry them in the cab, unless I can find a really tight box or build one that'll fit. Any & all suggestions are appreciated!

I always save space for saws and stuff. They never ride in the cab.

My favorite way to transport saws when I have a full load:

I am guilty of having them in the cab of my truck from time to time, but I usually end up regretting it. Even if nothing gets on the carpet, the smell isn't pleasant (and it's a safety hazard)

This but add a cable and lock. It's a Cali thing.

I have 'buried' my saw before so I could go into a store without worry while loaded. Usually just integrate them into the load if security is no issue.

In my old truck I used to stick a saw in the back seat floorboard with an old hooded sweatshirt or something under it to catch excess bar oil. Over time it got pretty saturated and started sharing the oil with the carpet. I didn’t mind too much though because it was a rust bucket and that spot seemed like it had a fighting chance with the oil soaking into it.

I have a stihl woodsman carrying case for one of my saws now, it’s a great option if you need or want to keep one inside the cab.

I usually leave some room for them up close to the cab.

Thank you, all! I have one Husqvarna case. It is good, catches the perpetual bar oil drip from the 450e. The problem is the amount of space it takes up.
I'm starting to think there's no simple solution for securely carrying 2-4 saws with a bed full of wood. This weekend, I'll work on designing a box to fit i in the cab.

I cut such heaping loads the saw(s) usually get stuffed in the cab. If not I'll try to tuck the bar in between logs or bungee in on top. Sometimes make a nook in the rounds to tuck the saw into.

Can you buy a plastic case for the saw to bring it in the cab RichE23ACR?

I know this is "cheating" but I put the wood in my trailer and the saws and other equipment go in the truck and can be locked as I have a topper.

Looks cool but that's more than most will spend on a chainsaw itself. If y'all got money to give away like that......

I was going to suggest getting one of those carry all that attach to the receiver. But I know that would just get more rounds piled on it
