14 at the moment, heading to 41! Ended up shoveling a little bit yesterday. Well, just pushing some fresh snow around is all that shoveling amounted to. As I mentioned previously, the whole dang month looks to be mild temps. theburtman looks like your overnight low was forecasted pretty good. Did you get any colder than -4?
Danged close, though. Seems they always forget about the temp drop that takes place just after daybreak.....
It was 19° this am. Supposed to get to 39° today. 72° in the house. Ash, honey locust, and I think a piece of poplar that got in my way at some point is in my quadrafire. It looks like it's starting to warm up out there this week. Some rain this week, but near 60° by Friday. Then the following week's weather looks to be done with the cold weather. If that's the case I can get back to not having to reload mid days and have fires only at night and in the am. That'll reduce my wood usage
26 It got to 38 when I checked yesterday. Some sunshine but once again, very windy. Very little melting. At least you can see a bit of a difference in the ice on the driveway and parking areas. Every little bit helps, no? Today "they" are calling for mid 40's but cloudy. Because of that, I don't think there'll be much melting again.
28/68, more oak. My wife started to stack processed splits last night since I’ve filled all of our totes through the winter as we emptied them. We will finish up with all 36 totes we have filled again and hopefully enough additional wood stacked to be covered through the winter of 27/28. Just need to find logs but I drive past a nice pile once in a while. Need to go knock on the door.
21. Yesterday they say hit 34 but it was sunny and I have 4 totes that were in the sun and there was no melting of the snow. Supposes to get to low 40's today.
Doesn't look like there's going to be much burning here for a while. 60's and 70's through the middle of next week. I'll probably run the boiler once a day for hot water, but that's probably about all.
Same here, got up to check and raining. Seems like every stinking time there's something worth seeing in the sky it's cloudy. Just blame it on Nebraska.
Must have been some wind that made the difference. If the temps were higher, the melting would have been noticeable.
Everything’s covered with about a 1/4” sheet of ice here. Luckily it’s 39 and quickly heading to the mid 50s. Plenty of solar gain so the wood stove gets a break today. The oil truck just topped off my tank this morning. Price jumped 20 cents since yesterday when I ordered, which was already a 10 cent jump over Monday. At least I’ll be all set until the fall now.
