You guys got slammed. Have to take an after pic to give a better idea of depth.

Back in 2013 when storm Nemo hit we got over 3'. Her and I were stranded for four days in her old apartment.

Ah ok. It's been busy AF here with work and life and I wasn't able to check in on FHC as much as typical, but every time I tried the site was down.

AI? We were always told that about 10% of the iceberg is above water. Seems to be unbelievably close to shore with 90% of iceberg mass underwater, no?

I'm glad you brought up FHC membership dues. (this policy change has been long overdue......)

Effective immediately: Cash only! No longer will any other forms of payment be acceptable for dues. No more CC, pre-paid CC,
money orders, wire transfers and certainly not any more personal checks! Reference buZZsaw BRAD this means you!!!!

Due to unforeseen circumstances my off shore account has been closed; thus no more wire transfers.

In other cost related expenditures, there will be no unauthorized landings of the FHC corporate jet on aircraft carriers. Unless you are certified such with 50 or more landings by the US NAVY. The cost of tires replacement (and not being reimbursed by those who checked out the jet at that time) and in some cases the replacement of the arresting hook have been more than expected.

In addition, both the FHC helicopter and FHC jet have been returned in deplorable conditions. Both have been filthy with way too much sawdust scattered about the decks and the controls have been covered with pine pitch! :hair: Hours have been spent cleaning both aircraft before the next user reservation. No longer will these costs be overlooked.

Please make sure to submit your membership fees in cash only to me ASAP!!!! :D

I was hoping not to bring this up publicly, but......:emb:

There are other members contacted during my investigation of those busch light empties and Eric VW offered some direction immediately and without hesitation. He asked if there were "crawling marks" leaving the aircraft also.

I understand your suspicion now that you point it out, but speaking as a photographer and iceberg alley resident myself, perspectives can be deceiving in photos (and we will seize the opportunity for a more impressive looking shot). Sometimes bergs can be very bizarre shaped too, say if there's a high spot on one end, 90% of the mass might be underwater but not necessarily 90% of the height. Add a steep drop-off and they can get surprisingly close to the coast.
There is a lot of fake junk out there, but Ray is a well known and respected local photographer. I don't think he'd post a fake picture and caption it with a real place. The best photos, my best included, come from a lucky combination of freak events, much more than talent or skill. Scenery photos anyway, portraits and such are more controllable.

Some years ago we had a young woman attempt suicide by driving off a several hundred foot cliff, here in NL. It wasn't her time. Unbelievably, her car got caught up on the near-vertical rock wall and she was rescued. Sad story, but my point being, some people insisted the car was photoshopped in. I saw the situation in person, it was real. I heard she later succeeded in her self-inflicted demise using a more "mundane" method....

Here's a few shots of a berg that visited that area in 2017. Different stages of melting and breakup, but the closer shots taken at basically sea level sure make it look even more imposing than the shots taken from further up the hill from the beach.

And that is why we just can't have anything nice around here. New rule should be that only the women are allowed to take the aircraft out from now on. You guys will have to stick to the luxury travel busses, yachts, trains and motor homes.

That was a crazy thing to see for sure. Yeah, I found a picture, almost 10 years ago.
