Just called Family Farm and Home and they have the HyperSplit 25-ton V2 208 CC on sale for $999.
    5.8 second cycle time
    16gpm pump
    Briggs and kohler.
5 in stock at my closest store!
(Maybe I should just buy all five lol)

Edit: she said it has a 22" max length (that is probably part of the cycle-time savings. 2"each way≈4" of travel)

Someone here did that a while back. Caused some friction here IIRC. Edit: I think it was about oil capacity of all things.

    I was thinking I saw them at $899 here...lemme look...how many y'all want? :D
Edit, nope, it was the 20 ton at 899, the 25T is 999...it's weird though, the 20T has 212cc engine, the 25T a 208.
Not that 4cc matters, but just kinda seems odd...

I believe the different cc's is for different brand engines
I believe all of them are made with some chinesium now, Kohler and Briggs included.
The 20t might have an all chinesium engine, not sure though.

The Briggs is chinesium almost definitely. The Kohler I think is still all us. The whole Rehlko thing is interesting. That says the lct Briggs have been great. Mines excellent on my snowblower

If I get there and have a choice between Kohler and briggs, should I take the Kohler?

Yes, I would take Kohler over Briggs. But don't let it be a deal killer if the Briggs is what's left, especially if it's the lct Briggs . Liquid Combustion technologies. A 100-150 dollar chonda will fix the situation at worst

Ok after Kohler sold off the engines and non plumbing/ bath fixtures biz to spin off Rehlko, they are mostly Chinese. So. Go either way. Maybe that would tell me to buy the Briggs if it's the lct one.

My 25 ton Hyper - Split has a 6.5 hp Briggs on it ,runs just fine but is a little thirsty. I like the splitter well enough at the first sign of trouble I will be swapping it out with a Honda
