We ended up with 20" of snow. Never lost power.

I've been shoveling/clearing snow and ice every day this week.

My area of South Jersey got 15-18”. I was out plowing in it and it was hard to see due to heavy snow and wind. Thankfully had school closed for both Monday and Tuesday which gave me time to get to everyone.

A whopping 5" for us. Weather dorks were beating the drum of at least a foot. Then very late in the storm they lowered it to 8". Then usual BS lines of why they were so far off.

It's amazing how sometimes they are spot on and other times they are WAY off. We got slammed! HARD! They were spot on with the wind speeds and snow amount predictions. The way the wind was blowing, it was hard to tell an exact amount, but Places in my yard had anywhere from 16" to 24" and I can't measure the wind blown drifts because they were nuts. (My) guess is here, on the Jersey Cape, we got 18" to be fair to them.

    I didn't bother measuring but I'm guessing 15"-18" here.
First pic is my driveway, it's about 1000' to the road. Then some wood stacks and my Big Green eggs.

We got hammered pretty good as WeldrDave mentioned. I'd say I got about 20" - 24" I don't watch the news so not sure official #'s and didn't measure, lots of wind drift. It was heavy wet snow, but great for snowballs and making a snowman. Because it was so heavy we had a lot of down limbs and trees which took out our power for about 16hrs. Thank god for the stove, keeping the house warm. Melted pretty quick and already went down a bunch, thank god! Lots of wood laying around I see for the taking.

We're fine. Windy snowy day it was. Never lost power. I had a cornice forming off the roof.
    IMG_20260223_111210.jpg

    That all got pulled down.

The Cape got hamma'd. Power still out all over there. 80mph winds brought down utility lines. Schools have been closed 2weeks.

It was interesting because our local news station's weather people were taking heat for NOT raising the expected amounts (as nearly everyone did - including some independent guys that are not usually into hyping things). As far as I oculd tell, they were pretty close.

They still took some heat afterwards because there were some areas that overperformed by a inch or two - but jeeze, they give generalized forecasts. With mountains and valleys, even within a town things will be very different. People act like it is a personized forecast, and that just ain't gonna happen.

March is the month that scares me the most here on the Coast! :startled:That old saying; "March can come in like a Lion and out Like a Lamb". Well, here it can be " Comes in like a baby kitten and goes out like Godzilla!".... You never know what to expect here. I've seen some beautiful Marches and others I'd like to forget! :picard:
