Something we always look forward to in March here. Average temperature raises 11 degrees and around 70 minutes of daylight. And the return of spring birds. (Sandhill cranes started returning last week.) Whoopee! But don't put away those snow shovels just yet.
After the winter we've had, I'm looking forward to longer, warmer days. At the rate we're going I'll have snow piles in my yard until mid April (or beyond). It's almost time to change the clocks. The extra light in the evenings will be a welcome relief. I'm in no hurry for the bugs and humidity, but seeing things come alive again will be greatly appreciated.
Honestly I sortof dread Spring. Not the warming or the greening etc. Mud. Mud season keeps getting longer it seems most years. Hoping for another dry summer here. Last year's was refreshing to me. Clay soils have their pluses but also minuses.
