48/62 with "decreasing clouds".
Got around 2.5" of rain which we desperately needed.

Planning to go to church meeting, and rest today.

An interesting piece that went over the bench yesterday....

 

Morning all. Frosty this morning with partially clearing skies. Rain predicted for this afternoon.
We are finally going to get the wood stacked in the back of the truck (our wheelbarrow) into the shed today. My working interrupted the flow of filling the woodshed.

After that it will be cleaning the church and bookkeeping. Dogs nails need clipping as well. Busy day ahead.

Good morning, ya'll. Hope ya'll have a SPECTACULAR SONDAY. 55⁰ when i left home this morning, heading to 63⁰ they say, and we're getting Sawdust Man rain now. Last day of 6AM-6PM shift, try to watch church on our FB Live Feed @11AM. Rest this evening, hopefully.

Our warm up seems to be taking a long time to get here. Every day the forecast looks the same. Warm up in a couple days they say. Same forecast for a week. Our snow hasn't budged except for sliding off the roofs.

 

Very nice unit! Back years ago when I had a large shop band saw and was doing lots of wood shop stuff I would go to the local unbelievably comprehensive hardware store and they would weld up custom blades for me from stock rolls while you watched. They were about half the price of ready made retail blades. Probably used that exact make of machine. I imagine that there are places that still do that but with cheap overseas manufacturing it is probably getting too expensive to train and keep a skilled tech. I think they still custom weld band saw mill blades? Maybe one of our Sawyers could answer that. I gather you were repairing the unit?

Most mill manufacturers now sell blades for the mills they produce.
Idk if it would be practical to weld one's own blades, or if you can even buy blade stock by the roll anymore.
I just buy pre-made bands for my sawmill.
