It didn’t get cold but it’s been lightly snowing for 36 hours. Phone say less than 2 inches, wife wore daughter 14” high boots instead of her 10” because of drifts.
18° out 68° in burning poplar

    16. I just looked at the forecast and it appears we have an amazingly warmth coming our way! Bingo!

Frost laws taking effect here! I've never seen them this early.

It was high of mid 30s yesterday, cloudy with wind. Though it was warmer, it felt raw to me. Seems the same today, with less wind. BL and mulberry.

Quick math says, so far this winter I've used a little less wood then usual, despite the long stretch of well below average temps. Which is a little surprising to me.

I cleaned the back window of the Jeep with two snowballs. I have a window cleaning squeegee but I can never find it when I need it. The snow wipes the salt off, mostly. There's a wiper but unless it is raining it just makes more of a mess and its path is a bit small.

27/73. Temps have been mid/upper thirties lately. Not feeding as much BL. I’m almost at the 3.5 cord mark. Might have to bring some more wood into the basement this weekend. Should be fun playing in the snow on the WheelHorse.

20/68, oak. It’s been a wild game of how wet and also how dry is wood in the same tote. Looks like a nice weekend of processing ahead. Looking forward to clearing my mind outside!

Look at the forecast. You might want to bring only small splits. Enjoy the snow. In a few days you should lose it.

29F and sunny here, supposed to see mid 50s for a high. 40F in the shop when I lit the stove. Split ash and noodled maple.
It’s been so warm and dry here for the last weeks that we took the balers out last week and baled 340 acres of stalks that we couldn’t get finished last fall due the poor weather.

46 and sun here as well. I have burned something like 12 or 14 cord so far. The 3100 square feet of shop soaks up a lot of heat at single digit temps either side of 0. Unfortunately it looks like the thaw is on, I would been happy with the colder temps till next month. Mix of maple and oak in the boiler now.
