We normally get very wet snow but this is dry and powdery.

Yes, here too! Should have used a leaf blower yesterday evening to clear path on the deck and blow off the pickup. Thought about it too late….old habits are hard to break

I got my blower out a while ago. It blows it, but it just makes a big cloud and you cant see what you're doing and the wind blows it back in your face. I got the shovel and tried to shovel a path to the truck. I forgot about the 3" of solid ice under this stuff. My feet flew out from under me and I landed on my right shoulder, felt like landing on concrete. Its hurting but I don't think anything is broken. I was on a video call with my little granddaughter in Raleigh, I was trying to show her how much snow we had and I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking. She saw me falling and heard me saw bad words when I landed.

Teks screws work pretty well for traction in work boots.
Saw a guy ice fishing with expanded metal zip tied to his boots.

My buddy Truckaa, has DIY screw-boots.

He took a pair of older work boots and screwed sheet metal screws into the bottom, leaving the hex heads protruding out. Soles thick enough so screw tips don't poke inside.

I had to shovel them off as no light had come through them for a week. First time that ever happened. And yeah, I see what you mean. That wouldn't be good!

Well, the driveway is still solid ice. Other than that, it's ok
