It's officially over 20° here for the first time in weeks it appears. 23° now. 70° inside Burning a bit too long split of box elder angled into the stove to fit, over a bunch of ash coals from last night. I'll let it go chooch valve open until we go out for dinner. Then I'll reload with some box elder and ash.
You know something is wrong when I'm colder than yooperdave. Up to 10 now. My name is Mike, and I'm a hoarder in Ok. Lopi Endeavor and Republic 1250
Welcome to FHC! If the picture is over 8 megs, it won't load. Take a screenshot or crop to get it at 8 mp or less and it'll work.
18 oak 6-8” of snow on top of the ice pack from last Sunday and still snowing. We need emergency milk, egg ,bread and ice melt deliveries. I told my wife to sell our snow sleds for a Benjamin per.
-6 outside right now just reloaded with some ash and white oak. Both racks on the deck are basically empty so that will be the first chore tomorrow.
9/68, oak with some cedar and pine trim kindling. I have to bring a tote of wood up today for us and a tote for the neighbor. Started with 19 totes for the winter and I think we are down to 7 left.
Huh we didn’t get above zero til daylight and another inch of snow Burning dry wood yellow birch and maple
-3 but probably will drop another couple degrees. Good news is this is the last forecasted below zero for the next week. No promises of a thaw yet. Supposed to finally get to 20 today. It's been a while...
14º this morning got some wind kicking because of the off shore storm. No snow from it, to far away from us. House was 67º, two nice Oak splits in the box. I slept in till 0600, had a rough night with artihritus pain.
10 feels like (-3). 70 in stove room. Took dogs out at 530 and reloaded with BL. Room wss 58*. Thats the cycle. I don't run the stove blower overnight because it cools stove down too much. Get up, room is cold, upstairs is warm...er. Get the stove back up to temp and turn blower on. House gets warm in short order. Fighting frostbite on my buff orpington rooster. He has a huge comb. He's gonna loose some of it, but I won't tell him yet. If Phil sees his shadow tomorrow...I have some lead pills for that rodent!
5/59. Cold stove. I’m the first one up. Just loaded with 7 year dried Red Oak. Prob 11-13%. Starts up with just a few pieces of paper.. Should warm up nicely.
16 and climbing. Supposed to hit 40 today which means all this snow will turn into mud. 16/64. Red oak warming things up. My name is Mike, and I'm a hoarder in Ok. Lopi Endeavor and Republic 1250
