Well, we missed our liquor appointment @ 4PM, just not fast enough to get it all done... ...
But I think we is JUSTIFIED now and no silly ads were harmed in the process.
    Friday was a marathon...:whistle::whistle:...
Started out as a 4 load day, which turned into 5...my old coworker texted if we had any wood left...so added his load to the trailer too...yep, we put a 330gal tote on too, didn't feel like restacking that one, plus wanted to show the friend that size, I think she will get several of those next year with 16" splits. 20260130_105058.jpg
We also put a tote on Ol'Skool for delivery... 20260130_105139.jpg
They have a high porch with rack we stack on, Miz Carol was having to chunk the splits 50' up to me to catch and stack...:whistle: 20260130_115317.jpg
Far rack was empty, near rack had maybe 20 splits left from last load...
We were all over Washington Co.
We took our daughter's family to Dublin, about an hour away, for our 9yr old grandson to get some new cowboy boots and we took them out for dinner. After we got home, we stacked another tote for delivery this morning 20260130_222405.jpg

The guy when carried to tote to yesterday morning gave us something better than a :emptywallet:tip. He liked the way our tote worked and asked if we needed another tote...we sure do...
Came home with a 330gal tote too. 20260131_093034.jpg
He has a friend down where he lives that hauls totes, gives him totes whenever he wants them. Said he would bring some when he has an empty trailer. Hopefully that comes through.
PS...I didn't ask what he does for a living, but he did mention that he dropped off a race car in Gainesville on the way up...

New cowboy boots and take the family out to dinner after all those deliveries. An immediate application of the scripture "See Good For All your Hard Work"! A Blessing for all of you!:salute:

Nowhere near a full load but enough to hold this repeat customer over for a few days. All barkless black locust and hickory. I’ll probably end up bringing him a total of 2/3 cord later this week. I took my snowblower into the backyard and cleared a lane for my truck this morning. I wanted to do that regardless, since bringing in more wood for my own use was becoming an issue.

The customer was really happy. I’d share what he texted but it was full of expletives  Apparently he bought wood from 3 other people and each time it was over 30% moisture content! He couldn’t get his cabin above 55F. He’s solidly in the 60s now and climbing.

I had 1 drive in today. I don’t like drive ins, but he was a return customer with a mint cal T100.
He went to cali to buy the truck for 10k. It’s a manual 4x4 that he could make money on if he wanted to sell. Anyway he calls me while I’m at work and wants wood rn. I say no good, how about tomorrow. No, I can come rn, it’s going to snow tomorrow. Me NO I’m at work, my wife is at work it ain’t happening. He says I can come before 2, or after 4. He introduced himself as Ryan like we’re buddies or I owe him something. Ryan doesn’t ring any bells and I’m close to closing up shop on this guy. The allure of Benjamin forced me to compromise to after 4. I told him to send a text so I have a reminder. Once he texted I could see he bought from me before and check his address. Gmaps showed me the T100 so I had an idea of what we were filling up. Ryan left with a full load of sugar maple and oak. His T100 had some purdy mud tars too.
I don’t like demanding people, but I a got a little walking around money for August.
The restaurant texted me and I thought dang I’m supposed to keep enough wood to supply a restaurant
A clergyman contacted me about getting more wood and I thought dang I can’t say no to a man of faith. They were at least willing to wait until Saturday.

A couple tall boys of Steel Reserve, a half pint of Graves grain alcohol, and a pouch of grape flavored Backwoods cigars will make me feel like a superior man this evening :smoke:

Picked up a second customer in a new fancy neighborhood. I backed into the garage next to the rack. On the rack was some perfect white oak, but it was too perfect. It obviously wasn’t weathered and it had an unusual bleached out look. It left me wondering if it was kiln baked. It also looked like it was run through a box splitter. My firewood looked dirty next to it, but it will burn better than Nashville white oak. Hopefully he will share my # with the neighbors. He got my number from a friend up the road in another neighborhood, not from a fancy ad made by a liquored up fella with too much time on his hands.
    2 more tomorrow 1 Sunday.
