11 wife filled stove with oak at 3:30. My road has not been plowed yet. There’s a school across the street but they probably won’t be back until next week.
16º out @ 5:35. 70º inside, nice coal bed since 9pm nappy time Old Fisher cooks slow dialed down. Temps not getting above 20º so they say. I put 3 splits of oak in her and dialed up the air, temps coming up.
I just viewed three different 10 day out weather forecasts. Not one had a single temp above 32F. uffda 7F out 67 F in oak not a cloud in the sky
I saw that heat wave too . Currently 10° out feels like -10° Box elder with a piece of ash in the stove this am. It was 70° in the house when I left this am. Box elder does coal up decently, it just burns quicker overall than even say, ash. I have a stove tender on duty at home.
Bad pic, bright out. You don't see this every day here in South Jersey. Koi pond frozen over and even the trough heaters are having a time keeping up. Made it to 22º right now, don't believe it's going any higher, it was only supposed to get in the high teens. Sorry for the crappy pics, but you get the idea...
3° feels like-12°,72° inside. A load of coals from box elder and a big split of ash and crabapple in the stove for overnight.
