Did a little work for our church after we dropped a big pine for a neighbor. A couple years ago, we took down a big sweet gum and a couple smaller trees in our church yard, and later another guy dropped a big pine there. We found out the trustees were wanting the stumps gone...a good time to pay the blessing forward... Brought the Kubota L4802 and Woodland Mills stump grinder over... Used the Stihl XS400 to lower the stump a bit... It was still very solid Let's get to grinding... Our neighbor, Randy, came over and was the rake man, he kept the chips back so we could see the stump. He's the guy we cut the pine for. Got the pine stumps finished, a small one was in front of the big one, then moved over to the sweet gums... Got that area leveled out... There was an oak stump in the back where folks park sometimes... It's gone too... We're thankful for all the blessings GOD has poured out on us.
Thanks, must have missed that. I’m pretty impressed with how the neighbors Woodland sawmill works. They may not have the big expensive name but it functions just as well as the big names.
Looks like a fun machine to use. I had to chuckle at the first pic as it looks like you were going to cut the bench in half.
...I see that now...I'd have to be mighty at the saw chain to put it on that old school concrete table. They were there when I was a little boy...
We decided to build a light pole for Blue Samson that would run on 12v. Got my shift mechanic at work to weld it up. 1 1/4" conduit fits inside the umbrella stand that's mounted on the splitter and a piece of conduit strut is the cross piece... Got the pair of 3" cube lights and a 4 light wiring harness on sale from Advance Auto...right hand light is a 4" cube from ebay. Didn't have room for the 10" light bar we wanted to mount in the center, so found a 4.5" cube that's even brighter...this is the 4" and 4.5" cubes Got a new battery installed the other night and tried the lights in the dark. The 2 3" pods are aimed at the front and operator station The 4" pod is aimed at the log lift/rounds area... And the 4.5" pod is aimed at the extension table, stacking area. I think this project was a success. Just need to tidy up the wires on the pole.
Thats a sweet set up! No one can say you're in the dark when it comes to making firewood. Shouldve gotten a heat lamp as well to dry the splits as they come off the hydro!
That might make the power bill go up...lol... This will be easier to set up when we move the splitter around. And we can still use the ladder and clamp on lights in a different area if needed.
Yes sir, I was pleased with the results. Should come in handy this summer, split at night when it's cooler.
Well, looks like we'll be splitting wood for a few more years, I hope... The biggest sheds we have is officially EMPTY...our retirement shed is gone... Almost 10 cords of premium white oak and hickory... But it was a blessing to others for much needed and a blessing for us...... managed to get the stump grinder paid off. This tote finished it up...had to add a little red oak to top it off. We will deliver it this morning
