Temp started rising around 7:00 last night when it was 14. 20 by morning. Just another dusting of snow.
Started out at 36f at 0630 this morning, now sitting at 14f 2156 with gusting winds. Locust in the stove to keep us toasty.
23°/72° Fir and box elder in the quadrafire. It's snowing out. A little here, a little the other day, a little more each day and pretty cold expected this weekend though Tuesday.
13 The 15" that was predicted didn't show up, thankfully. Unless it kicks into high gear today it won't come close to that amount. We did end up with 6-7 inches that will still require plowing though. The neighbor had his skid steer out yesterday and pushed/piled some snowbanks at the driveway entrance back and dumped what anow he could down into the ditch. Sure was a nice surprise. When I plow, almost every time I'll make sure the plow "wash" is cleared from his driveway/mailbox before it freezes. Once that stuff is driven over and freezes, you're driving over it for weeks until the thaw.
25/68, burning oak this morning. Will switch to pine later in the day and be back to oak for the night shift.
Looks like +8f at 0600. Stove still putting out good heat with tons of coals from the 2200-hour locust load. Gave it a little stir for flames to start back up so reload will wait an hour or two. Happy weekend all.
32/71, oak overnight, loaded up with ash and oak splits for now, spitting some stuff that looks like snow this morning
30, oak. After work I'll bring some BL down to the porch to burn the rest of Jan. And most of Feb. One stack of BL has that classic forward shift you sometimes get. Sooner or later it's going to give. Been stacked for over 3 years, so it should be gtg.
was 28º this morning, added 2 big splits of Maple to the coals! 78º in the house now. Were going into a cold snap now for the next week, not supposed to get above 40º all week and into the 20ºs at night.
30/71 maple and cherry this morning. Finally had a good night's sleep after a shot in my knee yesterday. Our guess is I may have torn meniscus but we shall see how it feels in a couple weeks before an MRI. I've been down this road before.
Had 30 this morning with a light coating of white. 2 splits of black locust and a heaping dose of draft warmed the house up in short order.
