Looking for Product Info on the KUMA Brand Wood Stove

I have an area I was thinking of installing a new wood stove in. KUMA brand wood stoves came up in conversation. Does anyone have experience in burning this brand of stove? Good, bad, indifferent, would you recommend one? I was told they burn very clean, can be burned without a cat, and the glass even stays clean on a relatively low burn. Looking for any input anyone may have to offer. My install will include double wall from stove to ceiling and triple wall from support to cap.

 

They're made pretty close to me and in an area that I wouldn't mind living. I have touched one, it felt sturdy. They are all smaller stoves now after eliminating their one medium sized stove. The EPA testing results were excellent. The catalyst bypass mechanism looked a bit weak and the baffle is made of ceramic fiber so not a nice heavy duty steel fixture. The aesthetics are that of a plain steel box, I think that's fine but it's no ashford/alderlea.

 

Thanks for the heads up. I agree, they are a bit "rougher" in appearance, but for this one, I'm more concerned about good functionality and quality.

 

IIRC, I think they are (were?) a family owned business, not too large, and I can't say as I recall hearing anything much negative about them

What's kinda funny is that their story is kinda similar to the Lamppa family that owns/manufacturers the Kuuma furnace we have...but they are in Tower MN.

I suppose size is relative. The biggest stove is 2.5 cubic feet so that is solidly medium for some people. Should burn overnight no problem.

I always forget which Kuma/Kuuma has just one U.

Interesting story for sure. Not a lot out there on them. The couple of YouTube videos I've seen, the people all seem happy with them.
