I haven’t been up to look at them but the power company is doing some replacement work on the power line.

The foreman called and told me they were pulling some cedar poles that were only treated at the bottom. He said if I wanted, they would cut the treated portion off and leave the rest for me to use. Thinking this would be good fire starter with a little work.

They said they would take all of the hardware off but offered to leave it if I wanted it. Hopefully I can get up there tomorrow to at least check it out.

This is supposedly a 101 million dollar project. They spent 27 million on access road improvements.

Sounds like a good deal. Nice to have connections. Post pics if you do.

Being from the PNW I’d think cedar would be more than just fire starters. Sounds like a lifetime supply of firewood that won’t rot too quickly.
I heated my house with mostly aromatic cedar one year. Not quite the same but I works.
