Ok, I think this is an issue because I never noticed it before. my 25-PAH on setting 1-9 runs fine and continuously. On 3-9 and above, It runs for a while, then the convection blower cuts out. The fire burns well. after a while the convection blower kicks back on. I know this stove well, and it will do it even if perfectly clean. Looking for a place to start the diagnosis. Maybe the temp sensor is not good? What else would pause and restart the convection blower only? There are seemingly no motor issues, no squeals, or other wonky issues. The stove is not run hard. I have a different stove but I have had to replace the fan itself because it would randomly change speeds, or continuously run on high.
i dont think its the fan. some input is telling the board to stop sending 120v to the fan only. after a few minutes whatever condition is cleared and fan resumes
anyone know what sensor in this stove says ok im hot enough now to turn the convection fan on? i think thats my issue. is it the thermocouple? If so i think its telling the stove hey theres def a fire in here but not hot enough to turn on the convection blower
Well the fan cut out again, so i unplugged it while on and sure enough theres 120v going to the fan. It has to be the fan. I'm putting a known working one in now. i'll see if the problem goes away. if so I guess it's time i keep some spare parts on hand for the 25-pah. The one going in is the fan i pulled from my brothers 25-pdv which he upgraded. same part number. I'm glad i pulled the parts before it got scrapped.
Update: problem solved. It was the convection fan itself. The new to me fan does not cut out. While i'm glad to have it solved, does anyone know why the fan would run, cut out even though it was being supplied with 120v the whole time and just start right back up again like nothing was wrong with it? It behaved as though the stove wasnt hot enough to turn it on, and then when the stove was getting much hotter it would start again, but that obviously wasnt the case. This motor also made no funny noises, i've kept it clean its whole life and no signs of bad bearings. fan assembly spins freely if i turn it
