A 660 or a 460 coil will take care of this or you can simply trim off the 3rd pole located by the lower mounting screw. Note: not my image
I’m curious too!! I have a 660 coil I have heard it makes the saw harder to start but I have no idea, I’d like to know…I do t know what all cha he’s when swap coils as far as how the saw reacts, harder start, different revs,etc…but I have a good ear and tuning with the unlimited coil sucks!!
Holy old thread revival Batman! Lots of fellers over on opeforum have done this mod. I’m not a 461 guy so don’t have any personal experience. As far as I know it works great though.
Also I have heard guys have starting issues and kick back when using certain coils, you have to have a certain coil with the starting goober, but I just have the stick coil on mine, I can tune it in wood….but it would be hard if you didn’t tune in the cut!!
