A 660 or a 460 coil will take care of this or you can simply trim off the 3rd pole located by the lower mounting screw.

Any idea how that works? (how trimming that off makes it unlimited?)

    I’m curious too!!

I have a 660 coil I have heard it makes the saw harder to start but I have no idea, I’d like to know…I do t know what all cha he’s when swap coils as far as how the saw reacts, harder start, different revs, etc…but I have a good ear and tuning with the unlimited coil sucks!!

Holy old thread revival Batman! Lots of fellers over on opeforum have done this mod. I’m not a 461 guy so don’t have any personal experience. As far as I know it works great though.

Also I have heard guys have starting issues and kick back when using certain coils, you have to have a certain coil with the starting goober, but I just have the stick coil on mine, I can tune it in wood….but it would be hard if you didn’t tune in the cut!!
