Nope...a 3500 HD has 10 lug 19.5 wheels...that has 8 lug 16"...that truck likely has a 10 or 11k GVWR...and its WELL over that!
Took the 550 out yesterday for a couple of hours. Hackberry and just hoping there are still some BTUs in it for this fall. Plenty more I need to clean up for them.
Half cord load delivered this week to a regular who buys two cords over the Winter. 75% black birch with sugar maple making up the balance. Ill drop a second load next week.
He loves BB, but not so much SM. Says it leaves to many coal chunks when the fire goes out. I actually separate them out when I unload.
Mixed load of primo hardwood dried two years. 40% hickory (mostly shag), 40% honey locust and the balance red oak. I pulled some hickory while loading for smoking inventory and replaced it with barkless BL. Same customer from post #8028 above.
Not much of a load . 5/8 cord of white and black spruce . But the customer was tickled pink to get it . My first day back in the woods since the seemingly endless cold days we've had . As my skidsteer is new and modern . It's basically a diesel powered computer . Computers Don't Like the cold . . Very frustrating with all the codes it was throwing plus it was froze to the ground . Took 2 hours from the time I got to the machine till the time I could get it moving from where it's sat . Then I could do a little work . It would throw a code , ide have to shut it down and let the heat soak in then fire up and keep going . That was at -18° F 2 days ago . Today the temp was up to +41°F ambient . I made it into Delta on my way to the woods , turned around and came home. Roads and highways was like a lubed bottle . .
Pretty frustrating when they take something simple like a tractor or skidsteer, which should be just a diesel engine and hydraulics on tires - and start putting computers, electronics, and emissions crap on them. That garbage just drives up the cost and provides multiple means of failure. Nice that you were able to get out some, though! Cooped up days make me stir crazy.
