15° feels like 6/ 71° in the stove room. 69° in the back hall. Ash, paper birch, Honey locust and fire choochin away in the quadrafire. I need to go to sleep, even though I took a good nap after dinner and 5 hrs of carport building in the 13° weather today.
18/64 Too lazy to reload last night before bed. Stove was somewhat cool to the touch by 5 am. Already have the stove back up and set to cruise. Horkn do you have info posted on your carport project? Weve been looking at steel buildings/carports for a few years. Curious.
Currently 25f after a dusting, half inch, of snow overnight. Should get up to 40 this afternoon so planning on letting the snow melt. Maybe I will get time this afternoon to go out and get the old 34-ton Huskee splitter brought in so I can do some much needed maintenance on it. Not too worried about the newer motor but I see it needs a hydraulic hose and guessing filter and fluid change. Hopefully it is water contaminated.
28/68, oak and pine. Need to split and stack more wood today. Seems like we are chewing through more than I anticipated so next year’s supply will be a squeeze. Oh well, just keep stacking and eventually I will have enough stockpiled!
10 this morning with only 2-3 inches of new snow. That's a lot better than the 6-10 that was predicted.
21/60. Let stove go out to do a clean out and clean back of cat. Oak and BL to get stove and room back up to temps.
It's warming up quickly. 21° out now. It was 11° at 7:30am. It's supposed to warm up this week. Like 45° warm. 68° inside. I cleaned out ashes from the stove this am, then I shoveled the driveway. I reloaded the stove with ash, fir, and crabapple.
It's a 20' x40' versatube 3 sided carport. It was ~$600 less to buy from Menards than from versatube directly. Then there's the 700 dollar in store rebate. I think he's into it about 7k with the excavator work and crushed gravel base. Now if you buy from Menards, you have to find some worker at the store that understands what your looking for. Versatube online you can literally click and go. But it's worth the savings. We got more done on it the other day. It's nearly done now
