Several states are planning on increasing their taxes on Social Security, OT, and tips since they won't be taxed federally. I bet N.J. and CT are on that list.
I'm sure, AND, NJ is raising the minimum wage AGAIN! A Whopper is going to cost $15.00 here. Beer just went up AGAIN!
It's kinda like "we told you you could only keep X percent of your money and we meant it ! Because the feds dropped the ball, we will take care of it."
I suppose I shouldn't mention I just paid my P taxes and it was just a hair over 3.3k. Move west, young man, move west
Mulberry Madness today! Pups having fun and this is such Beautiful wood. Now I know I've never had this stuff before! Splits like a dream, the splitter is hardly working! I wonder if the EOD "Stud muffin" has some of this stuff and how many "Benjamin's he'd charge? I can split a wheelbarrow load, then drink a Beer! Rinse, and repeat! It's cold out but sunny, 28º right now. Miller time! Next week, I'll have 10 IBC totes where the pallets are.
My neighbors just put up the vinyl fence this past summer. The LAST thing I need to do is have some wood fall into that and break it. This tote find will be perfect for Chrissy and I, a lot less work. Our space is limited here and this will work out well. I've never been able to find them, and when I do, they are $100 bucks a piece. I can live with $50.
Thanks much T. It just hit "Freezing"! Chris and I had to take a break. the last few pieces I have, I can't lift! I gotta Noodle... , Yeah, I could go vertical with the splitter, but I'll pass on that. I guess I'm not the "Stud" puppy I once was!
Sun going down, I'm a bit cold, temps at 30º right now and I got nearly everything noodled, all but the stump. I'll finish that off tomorrow, my A$$ is dragging. I Must not have been an EOD diver... After I get everything split up, it's close to a cord. might be a twig or 2 short. Beer then HOT shower...
It is some easy splitting stuff. The yellow will weather to a brown color over time. I sold a quarter cord of it in November as rice krispies wood. I get a decent premium for it. Not Nashville prices, but more than my bulk firewood. Minimal interest here as smoking wood. Only sold a handful of bundles in 2025. Nice set up with the pallets. Wanna see pics of how good a stacker Chrissy is.
That's a shame. I thought NH was immune to that logic. Stuff apparently has changed since I lived in Maine ( gasp) 26 years ago.
Ours just went up a little, were still mid 3k range, considering the community we live in and how desirable it is, is hard to complain about it too much. But lots of out of staters moving here bringing their insane political takes with them and voting that way. If that keeps happening, it will go to $hit just like where y'all moved from. Makes you think a little.
I used to get them at work, for free. We couldn't get rid of them fast enough. Sometime was willing to pay to have them taken. I was fully against that wasteful idea. Now we don't use the 2 part foam packing that the ibc totes contained, we went to all crushed paper. It's more environmentally friendly. We haven't had really many damaged shipments, so apparently it's working.
Many of them are "Rejects" but it's impossible to tell. Some have cracks and some have been damaged, My friend said it would/could "possibly" make them dangerous to lift or store product, so once the "Reject stamp" hits one, they get rid of it. The've been holding firewood just fine! I believe they were supposed to recycle them. (That's what I'm doing)!! I was very lucky, and it took a few years to get as many as I did and an hour drive one way but it was worth it, I have 42 pallets. I was also competing with others who got them as well.... It was only fair.
Did yours double at your place? Not in my eyes it isn't!! It's NOT right nor fair! Who the hell are they to say everything is now double... That's like saying you go into a car dealer and a car cost's 10K. Go back to buy the car the next day and it's now 20K. That is COMPLETE BULL$#!T
