    Morning all. Dry, overcast and windy today.
    So much for getting things done yesterday. I ended up napping through two hockey games and went to bed early. Dogs slept most of the day as well as they played pretty steady with our daughter's dog for the last couple of days.
    Today is cleaning the church and other chores.

    Cloudy day ahead. 21⁰/31⁰ less windy, Light snow overnight.

    Happy New Year's Eve! Nothing major here. Staying home in front of the woodstove. Planning on some shrimp cocktail and salad later. We used to host a big party with ~30 people here. No more. I'm happy to have the clock tick while in bed.

    I've been having stove issues regarding heat output. The stove top temp probe, reads 800⁰. It should be >1000⁰ where cat is. I ordered a new one yesterday. Hoping it makes a big difference.

    I'll be moving wood to the deck. It's been a few days.

    I've been in a months long process for a couple of dental implants. I return to the oral surgeon this morning for what they call the "uncovering". As in, making the posts exposed so my dentist can move ahead with putting crowns on them. A bit apprehensive. We'll see how it goes.

    Good Morning all! Good deal on the implants MikeInMa I think you will like them, once you get used to them.

    Happy NYE to all. Many years ago, my mom got me hooked on Pickled Herring.:seasoned: They are really good (YMMV) on saltines with a piece of cheddar cheese. That is my NYE celebration, lol! That, some reading and watching the fire in the stove.:MM:

    ALSO, today, tomorrow and Friday are quite a few college football games to watch. If you are also a football junkie, the next three days should get you your fix.

    I almost forgot... and a big batch of chili for tomorrow as we're having our sons and grandkids over tomorrow for some fun.

    Good morning. Definitely feeling the -15 wind chill this morning so enjoying the warmth of the woodstove. Going to take a while to get used to not having all those oak trees anymore but it does open up a great (if somewhat frosty) view.

    Taking my last vacation day, wound up driving 2 grandsons and my sister-in-law over to Augusta (about 70 miles) for Dr appointments. We'll grab lunch, a trip to Sam's, then home. Need to deliver another tote of 14" oak/hickory to a family this evening.

    All's well. The posts were exposed, a piece was screwed into the ends that a crown/cap will attach too. Couple of stitches in each location.

    Back to my dentist in a few weeks for the start of the crown work.

    Enjoying an easy stove relight, the 1st of 2026. Coffee tastes good. Watching it snowing. Simple things do count.

    Snow should let up mid-morning. 22⁰/26⁰ sunny

    Nothing on the to-do list. No dental issues from overnight. I'm sure I'll be pushing snow around. College football this afternoon.

    Planning a reheat of leftover Christmas pockets, baked potato, and some veggie/salad.

    Good morning and hopeful for a great New Year. The first year on a long time I wont be doing a polar bear plunge with Richelle. She is living in the DC area. Not sure if she found a group there to do it with.

    nothing going on for today other than watching Indiana in the Rose Bowl. Ohio State now has a two game losing streak.
