    I replaced my coil in October and it just went bad today and it was OEM. What are reasons it would go bad so quickly?

    I've got a 455 Rancher and have been through two coils. I'll be watching to see what some of the gurus have to say.

    Are the coils proprietary to the model? Would one for a 353 for example work and maybe be from a different factory?

    No idea. Part # 544047001. Not sure what all models it fits. But it is expensive from Husqvarna.

    I just ordered another coil for mine. Got it at mypartsstore.com

    OEM coil. $53.98 shipped. About half what I paid last time from Husqvarna.
