We only got about 3 inches last night and the temp now is 15. I finished snow blowing the little bit of snow there was on top of some frozen slush/ice.

I hope yooperdave and the other hoarders up in that area are staying warm. Looks like they're getting a solid blizzard.

We went from 65F to 30F in a couple of hours yesterday. Crazy windy today.

White oak burning away! Burning gas in the generator too… At least else have a couple space heaters and a lamp. Only needed another week and a half for the electricians appointment to do a whole house generator inlet. At least then we could have a furnace!

I found out that butane lighters don't even work at like single degree temps.

27*F again last night. Very mild to most of you folks but cold for us here on Puget Sound. Doug Fir is doing his job on heating the house again. Still have to back off on the wood in the stove around 4 PM so we don't get so hot we can't sleep. Went out today and CSS the last of that trailer load of Doug. Maybe .75 + cord on that load. colda.jpg

Not much, like 2" here, but up in northern Wisconsin we got 10.8" of snow. Power was out a few hours up at our land. Some areas of the UP got about 3 feet. yooperdave , y'all good up there?

14°/73°, box elder in the stove

28F and wind has finally calmed down. White oak and beech. Don't get to burn beech very often, I'm a fan. Puts out heat and coals well. PXL_20251230_013716728.MP~2.jpg

We got a bunch of snow. Hard to tell how much, but at least 8” maybe a foot. Lots of drifts and hard to measure. Oak in the stove. Near zero outside and pretty toasty inside.

I got the driveway cleared. Lots of slushy stuff under the snow from all that rain and sleet. Made emptying the bucket difficult. That pam cooking spray doesn’t last long.

Been low twenties all day an$ will be like this next couple. High winds at least are diminishing. Severe storms hit last night and did some damage on some of th3 old buildings in downtown of next county.

winds caused th3 hasp to our cistern house door to be pulled out. The door damage and will need replaced. Boiler was filled around 10:30 and doinf its job.

46 inside, 22 or so outside. Generator is back on for the day with the space heaters and insert spooling up. White oak all day. Sure will be glad when the generator inlet is installed! I expect the house to be closer to 60-64 in a couple hours.
