That and being one piece will hopefully give me some time to process.

Had a great day in Lancaster yesterday. Went to the factory outlets and we bowled at a huge arcade in the park city mall. Had to laugh driving back to the hotel going past amish farms since brenndatomu sent me the picture of the yoders light display.

So sorry for your loss. Yep, don't waste chances to spend time with those that are important to you and that you love.

Spent the last 2 days at my buddy's putting up a 20'x40 versatube 3 sided carport for boat and other storage.

It was like 38° both days. No real wind or rain. That's changing today. We gave it a rest today after 6-8 hrs each day working on this. The rain will turn to snow tonight. We'll work on it again Thursday when he has off again and I'm not cutting wood. Tuesday I'll probably go out to his place and buck up the ash he dropped and get that bucked and hauled home, Wednesday I'll cut wood with my friend Matt because it was too soft and muddy Friday. So I'll unload the ash Tuesday after cutting so I'll be able to take another load of wood Wednesday, which will more than likely be all ash as well. There's a lot of good ash in the woods at his place.
Here's a picture after day 1 of the two of us getting the frame up and square. Yesterday we got the back wall up and, mostly sheeted, then got a row of roof done. It's putzy work.

Looks like we'll work on it later this week again. Then my big boat can be under a roof this winter, albeit a lot later than I wanted.

You might be able to see the ash on the ground to the left of the shed area. It will probably a full load, so 2/3 of a cord.

Get home before the storm. Big wind coming here and no doubt you will also get it.

20-40mph round here tomorrow with some gusts over 50mph. Hopefully the rain stops before it starts freezing or it just switches over to snow. Could get interesting.

That's why my buddy and I said nope to working on the shed today. We're sheeting it now, so any real wind is a no go. Plus two days working on it in a row was a lot.

The boat is itching to get under the roof though.. I pulled the the boat up to his house. We can just back it up and into the left bay from where it is now. The ground was solid when I moved it, and mostly grass was showing so I used that time to make it easy before more snow arrived. The cold weather tonight will set up the ground that was thawing between the boat and the shed base where the tractor is now. As soon as the roof is finished, it's getting under it. We just ran out of time, daylight, and energy yesterday.

Mmm, cornmeal mush (coarse polenta) with some butter, brown sugar and raw milk

Going to roll it up and fry patties tonight.
