Wow! Running has not been part of my life for many, many moons. I'll never forget the doctor who did my hips told me to never even try to run. Shoot, I had already been in that condition for years.

Make the most of it John and enjoy it.

I have been walking and getting out for a few hours of disc golf a week. That's 2-4 miles of walking through the woods. Going to start a program with the kids to build up to the half distance by May

Earlier this evening my son and I had a nice fire outside. It was about 14 and a breeze. But I had prepared the fires a couple days ago. The snow was coming in so it was time to burn. We had a cold beer before the pizza that his Mom was cooking inside. Burned up all the cardboard and paper from Christmas. Some pallets started it off quickly. Got the heat up fast. IMG_7393.jpeg

Snow is here and we just finished watching a movie I had never seen before. The Vast of Night. Time for some shut eye.

I did a little browsing on some debt and financial advice forums. Man, the amount of credit card debt some people get themselves into is mind blowing

Ended up sore as heck once again. With the rain we got the night before, the entire driveway, walkway, ramps, parking area was ice. Even the walk to the mail was a risk! What a mess!

Shipped as much ice from parking area before guests showed up. I got enough done for their parking unloading and walk into the house. Throughout the rest of the day, I got enough done for three more cars to park and not have to walk on ice since today some more people will be showing up.

How many guests are you hosting? That's a lot of vehicles!

Should be no more than 4 extra vehicles today..so four different households represented.

The number of guests depends on just who is still left at the guest's houses. Maybe their guests have left yesterday when the getting was good sort of thing.

Caffeine! Kids are going skiing today. My wife and I will be home alone. We received a little snow last night but I don’t know if it’s even enough to plow. Some type(s) of projects will get done today. Then my oldest daughter and her family come in tonight. Yea! The grandkids will be here! (5 and 1 y.o.) :)

Did a little scrounging today. Last week this beech tree came down across the road, just 50ft or so from my driveway and took out a small standing dead red maple. The county came through Monday sometime and cleaned up the small stuff and cut the trunk further off the road.

I was able to get off the road completely with a vehicle and trailer. Got a load of stuff the county monkeys cut to size.

Was able to drag the trunk outta the ditch and to the end of my driveway after I cut it loose from the root ball. Hopefully it'll stay there until I get time to size it up into rounds. Looks like maybe 16'.

In the next picture you can see the stump, red arrow, and butt end of the log at the end of the driveway, green arrow.

The beach might've uprooted but it's not dry. Sap wood was very alive this last year. Can see shoots coming off in spots. It'll get burned next year or late spring. Red maple should be good in a week or two.

IMG_5477.jpeg Fun day on the slopes with my boy today . Lost a major contributor in my life the 23rd. It’s an interesting ride on this rock, don’t put off telling the people you love, learned the hard way you don’t always get another chance. Hoping for a better year in 26.

The sign is a good idea. Hope it keeps other scroungers away.

Hoping my last flight for today isn't cancelled so I can actually land in NH at 1am (technically Monday morning). I may still end up in a hotel before getting home since it is supposed to be a yucky mix falling then so if roads are iced up, I'll opt to wait until sanding and morning traffic help get rid of some of it. I usually don't drive in the dark anyway, so ad ice to the mix and it's a hard no from me.

Of course, if my last flight is cancelled, I will be lucky to get to NH by Monday afternoon, so everything is relative.

Already told pet sitter to plan on being there Monday morning unless she hears from me otherwise.
