Yep, I remind Miz Carol of her FB addiction and she says I'm always on FHC...I didn't know she ever looked up to see what I was doing......
My wife is wondering a bit less every year. I'll know that I've succeeded when a visitor asks "how much firewood do your need? " and she responds "More!"
Me too, we are a little more conservative down here... You'd have to get that purdy tractor dirty though...
This thread is getting long. I'm amazed that no one has segued to C.A.D. & warned about that symptom of firewood hoarding! This is one my all time favorite screen shots!! Sorry the system says "Low Memory " and won't let me upload the screenshot. I'll try another way
That there is Purdy stack'n! , I can't stack worth a $#!T! It usually falls over, that's why Chrissy does it! I think I got the same saw screwed to my wood shed also!
Currently sitting on 17 totes, all but 1 is overfilled, AKA to the point of wood falling off, and the 1 is being filled as we speak. An additional 7 totes south property line, all but 1 that I am pulling from now filled. North property line as 3 for a neighbor plus 7 for Edwin, friend on OPE. I need to consolidate 4 so I can fill with what I have on hand and in the process of CSS. Should have gotten updated pictures when I was out. Final 2 are in driveway that have locust that was split in 2016/17, I forget, that I pull from as well. Good thing Omaha has a "1-season" restriction on firewood storage.
Guessing if a neighbor complains about it. My side is it takes 3-4 years to dry so I have one season worth here. I wonder if that would work for my defense.
That’s probably it. And the ordinance is probably in place simply because one person complained. Simply having the ordinance would likely solicit complaints from those inclined to do so. I think any such ordinance would prove to be unconstitutional if one was to put up a fight. My town recently debated an ordinance on regulating chickens to include building codes for coops. All because one person complained about a resident with a rooster. People need something better to do with their time.
I always said I wanted to have 100 cord on hand, and I am flirting with that number if not above it. It’s in various forms, but it’s here. It most definitely is an addiction! I have about 25 cord blocked up ready to split, maybe another 5 or so cord of chunks that would make 2 rounds or need trimming, maybe 30 cord of logs along the driveway, and a $hit ton of doug fir poles from 30-80 ft long that I mill into lumber. Several semi loads of those. The scraps get bucked into firewood along with any that are too busted/cracked/knotty to mill. There isn’t enough time in a day.
