This is in the basement of the new house. Any idea which model it is? On a side note, there's no way this is safe to use with the iso board so close behind it (maybe 18"?) and with that water tank right beside it, right?
The water tank is possibly considered non combustible? Not sure what it's made of exactly? The ISO board would probably need a steel sheet mounted on 1" standoffs to be safe...but not sure what the clearance ratings are on that stove? If it's 36", then 18" would be about the limit, even with shielding.
With Homesteader identifying it as a 121, I was able to get the manual from Jotul. Clearances are 38" to the rear and 50-3/4" to each side. That's HUGE. There's lots of stuff within that range of the stove, so I think the previous owners were likely more lucky than smart. Unfortunately, that lines up about perfect with all the small but dumb problems I'm finding with basically every single thing in the house that I have to work on.
Those are the highest clearance requirements that I recall ever hearing of...that thing must run red hot regularly... I'd send it packing personally.
