Bought a trailer a few years ago that was one of my friends and it was usable but in pretty rough shape. Finally got around to putting some work into it.
Picture loaded with the logs is about the time I bought it, missing tailgate, no lights and fenders were barely holding on. Had ladder racks that were pretty rusted out so I ended up cutting them off. Buddy of mine brought this tailgate home from his work on a trailer they were scrapping and it lined up perfect .
Bought some sheet steel and had one of my buddies weld up some nice fenders, then took it to a trailer repair shop for a look over. Ended up needing new brakes, wheel bearings and all the wiring pulled and redone from scratch. Picked up some 1x10s cheap enough from a local sawmill and made some easy removable sodes for hauling wood. May add a few more clearance lights and then ill be painting it next spring.
Getting some use out of it, 1 ibc tote full of oak and about a face cord of cherry getting dropped off tomorrow for the guy that did the labor on the trailer we did a part cash and wood deal.
Idk i hate letting go of seasoned oak especially with as cold as its been but it was nice to save a little money
