It is SOOOOO MUCH nicer in t 20251211_092151.jpg

Yup. Burning white and black spruce for day time and Birch for the overnight load . It is so much nicer having the arctic entry (Alaskan word for enclosed porch) . I installed a 3x4 slider on one side and the windowed door on the other side. Once I get the ceiling/roof and floor insulated . It will be way better yet . The walls are sheathed with 2 1/2" thick , insulated metal panels which have a minimum R value of R15.
I'm not aiming to make it a fully heated room.

I knew I wasn’t the only guy to use the trigger gun for outdoor temps. I have read -50 a few times here in WI.

-3 F and 70 in the house. Quaking aspen and lodgepole are in the furnace. We also have a winter storm warning for 6-12 inches of snow. There was a similar warning less than a week ago and we didn't get any snow, so we'll see what happens.
