40 no break from the wind. 70 inside. Great draft in stove. Licking up the lodgepole fast. Might put the big boy pants on and do some splitting today. Or maybe not:whistle:

41 and windy. Temp is supposed to drop all day with rain/sleet/snow this afternoon.

Mystery wood in the boiler....it was too dark out to see what I put in there. Probably some mix of pear, walnut, and cherry.

Hopefully the oil fill $$ isn't too bad. At least you got 6 years out of it. Did they still have your account on record? Lol.

Seeing as you're in snowmobile land, with regularly open snowmobile trails, you should try it again. I know you like motorcycles. It's basically like that but way less probability of getting taken out by a car. Newer sleds are really dialed in, 2 up comfort, heated seats are even available. With all the snow we have now here in WI for once, I'm considering getting a sled again.

28°/ 73°. Feels like 15° out and snowing wet heavy snow

Highs of 1c/34f today/right now with a heavy rain down pour happening. A modest doug fir fire is in the box tonight due to the mild weather. If this weather keeps up Ill be seeing how low and slow a blaze king can go earlier than I thought. Install on Monday or Tuesday.

    Well, that was fun…

We welded up a hitch mount on the bobcat for the snow plow and made a new adapter for it. We decided to try the van first to see if it would push the foot of snow we got last night. It wasn’t running right. Hooked up the plow to the bobcat and spent several hours getting the 1/3 mile driveway at least passable. Ran out of fuel and made it to the shop. Took the car jnto town to get fuel and it still wasn’t running right. Felt like a misfire. Put it in the shop and pulled the plugs and they were bad. Closed up the gaps and it still did it. Pulled a plug wire, no change. Shoot, bad coil set. So now I have to find out how to get parts delivered because I don’t want to melt a cat.

At least the fire is warm…

Everything seems to be calm outside at the moment.

A couple of cooler days coming up beginning tomorrow.

Ash and Maple keeping the house warm. We received somewhere around 7-8 inches. More than I was hoping for. Fortunately I’m off today. And have nice equipment for clean up time.:)

Winter is on the way. Supposed to get 3"-5" tonight, another round of snow Saturday night, then the below zero Saturday and Sunday night. That's about as wintery as it gets around here anymore.

There is a massive bed of coals in the boiler...going to let that burn down for the rest of the day.
