About a year ago, I picked up our new splitter; a Split-Fire 3265. It has been amazing for what I need. I'd consider it to be a very well made mid-grade machine. It's "cycle time" is a little under 10 seconds best as I can time it. The beauty of Split-Fire log splitters is their splitting time, they split both ways. With two people, we can just about keep up with it; split, flip the log around & split again. There are a good number of good splitters that I considered and could be happy with. The final short list came down to a Rugged Made, this splitter, and the Ramsplitter Fast Cycle. A local, commercial rental house has a couple of Split-Fire's that I've rented. The Ramsplitter was a close second but I've not seen one in person let alone run one. There's a fair amount of YouTube information on the Rugged Made's. Ultimately, I didn't want to deal with a pallet of parts. My splitter has a few options, log lift, Honda engine, the bigger tires, 28" bed height and the 24" tongue extension. I don't get splitter tonnage ratings. This machine, at 22 tons, will split anything a friend's 33 ton Cub Cadet will. The thin knife definitely helps it go through everything. Twice, I've been able to stop it by starting on 6"-8" knot on the cut face of 20"+ oak rounds. Once the piece of wood was spun 180°, the 3265 sheared through the logs, knots and all. Any splitter that can out produce this 3265 likely costs double or more. This fits my needs almost perfectly! Sadly the system will not allow me to upload pictures due to "low memory ". I'll try again another time.
I'm perplexed, tried again, no joy. "Low Memory " error message comes up whenever I try to post a picture.
Rich, is the low memory error from here, or where your loading it from? I know here pictures with too much data give an error. Try cropping it?
