    My buddy had a place with a fireplace/cubby like that...it had a hatch to the outside to load it

    My neighbors growing up had the same thing which I always thought was cool. My fireplace sits in the middle of my house which helps eliminate reverse draft but something like that would be cool to have. The woodstove was the first thing we did when we bought the place. Well worth twice the cost to us.
