    Family had scrapple all throughout growing up. I've always thought it was nasty, still do. Y'all aren't missing anything.. It's just butcher scraps (insert all things except meat here) mixed with corn meal and spices. I've seen what goes in so yeah, not my thing.

    For some reason, this popped into my head around 0200 this morning. I remember when the corned beef hash MRE came out (circa 1991). Tasted nasty when eating it cold, but using the MRE heater, warmed up it actually wasn't bad. Still a step up from the dehydrated beef or pork patties (aka the hockey pucks) or the (gross) hot dogs (aka the four fingers of death).

    I guess when you've eaten countless MREs over the years, stuff like corned beef in a can is a luxury (plus it brings back memories as we had it growing up).
