Couple days back this week. Cut up a load of wood from his local supplier (he turns it into firewood and brings it back) Pic of his dumpster truck loaded with splits. Pile of mill logs on the right. DSCF0499.JPG Tree service had dropped loads of hickory, red maple and dead ash that got cut up too. The guys splitting the maple into a mound. Dead ash rounds far left. DSCF0498.JPG DSCF0500.JPG I came away with a load of Goldilocks ash DSCF0503.JPG

    Perfect for your bundles.

Do you check with a moisture meter to see if you can sell immediately?

I did not. I opted not to use it for bundles as its too messy and "dirty" looking with missing bark and insect damage (EAB) A few heartwood pieces got put aside for such. I had a delivery today and a couple coming up where I'll pull nicer splits for bundle inventory and use the ash to take their place. Something I normally don't do, but one of my newest stores has been selling bundle three time faster than I expected.

When I deliver it I'll separate it out and tell the customer. Both are long time regulars.

What’s the fastest drying bundle wood in your experience?

Split the load off the truck this morning. About 40% of a cord. DSCF0511.JPG

Cottonwood. The stuff I cut end of August is being used in bundles now. Just one piece mixed in with 3-4 other species. Some recent sales have a piece of hickory, cherry, CW, silver maple with a mix of maple to top them off. I have more from end of October that will go into them in another month or so.
Some of these bundles have a split of TOH from your place mixed in too. Notice the fresh cut splits on the bottom bundles. Pic from a delivery last Sunday. DSCF0496.JPG

LOL! He gets 100 at a time. Its easier on my back to take them out over the sides than climbing in to unload so I park one way, unload, them pull in opposite direction to unload the rest.

That is one purty display. I still don’t understand who buys these things but to each their own.
There’s a big cottonwood half way to the ground down the road from me. Had no intention of going after it myself.

It’s a blow over. Top is on the ground and cut off. The trunk broke about 10 feet up and it’s hung there. A little dangerous for cottonwood IMO lol. When I get a chance I’ll knock down that TOH in the field and another from the woods just to make sure you have a full load.

Wondering if mud season will be upon us? Forecast next week shows seasonably cold temps.

Full loads are good! :tree: Should I bring a few gallons of kerosene? ;)

Don't really know. They all pay the same price from me, but a couple get charged a delivery fee. The one pictured is an hour one way from me. He is partners with one of my local stores.

Have you run that Powersplit at all? I'd love to demo one before I pull the trigger on one.
