Cold laundry room. He sealed it on the inside and it was better. Flash forward, had metal roof/wall panels done, but a decent draft is back. I was trying to pinpoint last night, too drafty to tell where where the cold air is coming from except the Breaker Panel was freezing. Panel has ~ 2.5" pipe with big wires coming in from roof, and another smaller pipe on the on side. They are sealed where the enter the laundry room but I think cold air is blowing through the pipe into breaker panel and room. Wish me luck and please offer other ideas to plug the pipes around the wires.

Also, the roofers removed a lot of dirt built up from snow drifts around the perimeter, how might I seal the between the walls and the floor? Aesthetics not an issue. I'm not great with caulk. I was looking at www.amazon.com/stores/page/427E4644-F6B1-4F4A-8062-FD0542AD97A6/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_plhdr=t&pd_rd_i=B0B2D9CHK3&ref_=sbx_be_s_sparkle_ssd_vid&store_ref=SBV_A08094822UBSKEF6LOI4J-A04381603BUUIFIF7YHNC&lp_asins=B0B2D9CHK3%2CB0F28J3F7W%2CB0F28J7KYW&pd_rd_w=sp9Xk&content-id=amzn1.sym.9f2b2b9e-47e9-4764-a4dc-2be2f6fca36d%3Aamzn1.sym.9f2b2b9e-47e9-4764-a4dc-2be2f6fca36d&pf_rd_p=9f2b2b9e-47e9-4764-a4dc-2be2f6fca36d&pf_rd_r=GVB3JGCEJT6B0164P0ZZ&pd_rd_wg=7Nc9N&pd_rd_r=1f48409e-06ef-4231-ac02-f69d69f3b679roofing/RV tape.

I could probably mooch this from husband www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0C65W7JVP/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_plhdr=t&aaxitk=c4ce6bd78c8ddcc7e1d5f15f59ac9d65&hsa_cr_id=0&qid=1763489113&sr=1-1-9e67e56a-6f64-441f-a281-df67fc737124&ref_=sbx_s_sparkle_sbtcd_asin_0_title&pd_rd_w=KevhR&content-id=amzn1.sym.9f2b2b9e-47e9-4764-a4dc-2be2f6fca36d%3Aamzn1.sym.9f2b2b9e-47e9-4764-a4dc-2be2f6fca36d&pf_rd_p=9f2b2b9e-47e9-4764-a4dc-2be2f6fca36d&pf_rd_r=6WVZRXTXFGB4GJ14KA2A&pd_rd_wg=b4Yly&pd_rd_r=0c3e8128-8f43-4035-8973-57c50277e931&th=1

Great! Thank you :) Do I need to do it from outside or can I take the breaker panel cover off and do it inside?

I once had the same problem. Cold air infiltration through the weather head into the panel in the garage. I put up with it until I had a wasp nest in the head. I killed the wasps and shot the head full of that "Carpenter in a Can" expanding foam. That was many years ago. No problems since either wasps or cold air. If you do any work inside the panel, it could be very dangerous because every thing will be "hot". That is, unless you have a disconnect between your service and panel. Maybe talk to an electrician first!:BrianK: Please be very safe!

THANKS! I just googled, turning off the main power in the breaker box does not help. I looked and the pipe on roof in daylight, there is what looks like a grey disc at the opening with the big wires going through. Maybe kiddo will get up there for me spray expanding home around the gap all the way around disk for me. Not going into the the breaker panel anymore now that you brought that to my attention.

Generally from the outside...I'd not fool around in the panel, unless the power is off

As long as the knockouts aren't way bigger than the wire OD...but even if they are, you'd still have less air infiltration than if the black plastic insert is not there at all.

Something in the weather head is holding 3 big black wires apart. I do not see where the second pipe on the side of the breaker panel comes from though. The 1952 breaker box on other side of the house is still here and in use, those wires might be from that, or there is a big breaker panel in the garage, who knows, 3 roofs, 3 attics and 3 panels :loco:  I'd like to put a door on that room but my washer water lines freeze and I don't want to risk any water in the washing machine freezing and busting a pipe in there too. I give up.

Display case nearly done. Just need to apply final coat of poly over the char. Customer picks up tomorrow.

I thinks it looks Japanese enough. No fasteners, just joinery the way the Japanese used to make stuff.

Nice work man. You have some serious talent. Is that a display case for @will711’s 30 packs?

    Thanks
    :salute:

Okay, I will, another day... He's in the middle of a really tough month. Example, he had to take a 2.5 hour Uber tonight to get home. It's been crazy and not in a good way.

But he did say he knows our telephone pole shut off

Have you seen Daddy's Home 2 ? Had that on last night, even though we've seen it before we still had belly laughs.

Great question, thanks for bringing it up. I noticed the other day that the seal around the mini split wires is starting to pull away on one side. I had already shot some expanding foam on the opposite side of that hole about 2 years ago - and it ain't pretty since there is no covering head, just straight out of the siding. Before painting the house, at least the foam was close to the same color so didn't stick out - LOL. Think I need to get some of that suff you linked!
